5 Outdoor Renovations to Consider For Your Home

Fitzpatrick Painting & Construction • Apr 06, 2018

outdoor renovationsThe warmer weather is starting to make its way back, and we couldn’t be happier. With it comes the joy of hot summer nights in the company of friends and family. There’s nothing better than shaking off the winter blues and gearing up for the backyard barbecues we’ve all been dreaming about.

But, before you send out the invitations for this summer’s hottest party, why not have some fun with a couple of outdoor renovations?

A little sprucing here, a little building there and, before you know it your home is even more of a sanctuary than before. Here are five ideas that’ll help you kickstart the next season right.

1. A Fresh Coat of Paint

One of the best outdoor renovations for warmer weather is a fresh coat of paint.

Whether this is only the front door, the window trim, or the entire house, a fresh coat of paint will provide a tremendous facelift for your home.

It can even make you feel like you’re coming home to an entirely new house every evening.

2. Build a Gazebo

Ready to get your DIY on? Are you handy enough to build your own gazebo? Or, perhaps you’ll contract the job out to the professionals.

No matter your chosen path, a gazebo will provide you a pathway to happiness and charm.

It’ll provide somewhere to sit in the evening glow, complete with your pitcher of lemonade. You can plant roses all around and watch them spring to life every season.

Better yet, you can string some twinkle lights through every nook and cranny, lighting it up like a backyard jewel.

3. Consider New Lighting

This can be a small or large change. Maybe it’s time for some new sconces on the front porch? How about a nice Parisian lamp to light the walkway?

Better yet, how about a trim line of tiny solar lights along the walkway to your freshly painted home?

Some fresh, new lighting is a wonderful way to light up your evenings and showcase your beautiful home.

4. Style Your Front Porch

That’s where we spend all our summer nights anyway, right? Have you ever sat out under the stars, feeling the breeze gently drift through?

It’s pretty magical. Although the summer rages on, something about a front porch , complete with a swing, a ceiling fan, and some pretty potted plants washes all our cares away.

5. Outline a New Garden Patch

What are you in the mood for? Would you like to create your own organic veggie garden? Or how about a rose garden?

If you want to do it right, you might consider building a small wooden fence to outline your new garden patch. This will keep some of the critters out and your plump tomatoes safe.

Outdoor Renovations for Hearth and Home

Who doesn’t love pulling up the driveway to their home and feeling pride and joy? That freshly painted front door, that thriving garden, that soft glow leading up to your front porch will make all your hard work worth it.
